YES!! Glorious Garden Festival Garden Walk, Fri-Sat, July 10 & 11
Great news! The Glorious Garden Festival Garden Walk WILL be held Friday and Saturday, July 10-11!
Garden lovers can put on their walking shoes July 10th-11th and discover some beautiful gardens in the Bloomington-Normal area during the 24th Annual Glorious Garden Festival Garden Walk: Garden Visions! The walk is a fundraiser for the David Davis Mansion Foundation, which provides private support for the state-operated David Davis Mansion State Historic Site.
This year’s Garden Walk offers walk-through tours of 9 private gardens in the Bloomington-Normal area. Hours are 1pm to 8pm on Friday, July 10th, and 9am to 3pm on Saturday, July 11th. The Garden Walk will be held rain or shine and tickets are non-refundable.
*** Please note that it is our #1 concern to keep everyone safe! We are requesting that everyone involved in this event wear a face mask and maintain safe social distancing.***
The Garden Walk will begin on the grounds of the David Davis Mansion at 1000 Monroe Drive in Bloomington. If you have purchased advance tickets, bring them, or your computer receipt for online tickets, to the drive-up tent at the Mansion during event hours, Friday, July 10th 1pm to 8pm, and Saturday, July 11th 9am to 3pm, to exchange them for your official Garden Walk Guide Book and the map that shows all the gardens on the tour. If you need tickets, they are $20 each for adults and $10 each for anyone under age 18, and are available, cash or check only, at the drive-up tent, during event hours until they are sold out. Garden walkers are encouraged to visit Sarah’s Garden on the grounds of the mansion, and shop at the Clover Lawn Museum Shop in the lower level of the mansion. Once you have your Guide Book you can visit the gardens during event hours on either day and in any order you choose.
The gardens on this year's tour include a variety of do-it-yourself gardens and some that have had help from professional landscapers. All the gardens and yards give garden walkers creative ideas they can use at their own homes. Garden owners and staff representing local landscape sponsors may be on hand to provide expertise and insights in some of the gardens. Visitors are sure to be inspired by the creativity of some of the community’s most talented gardeners.
