Sarah's Garden Summer Color

"But to leave the house and go to the garden - I wish I could set you in it this moment while the dew is on the flowers - such a wealth of Scarlet Geraniums, Tiger Lilies, Verbenas - Candy Kiss Gladiolas coming into bloom and various other annuals would gladden your eyes while the mignonette would refresh your senses generally. O! if I could place some Geraniums in your little front yard - How happy it would make me - to know they were making glad your eyes. Several Petunias and other annuals come up from seeds dropped last spring."

One of Sarah's favorites was the white Madonna Lily. Also thriving in the summer are the geraniums, California poppies, larkspur, phlox, petunia and zinnia.
