A Group of Volunteers

The David Davis Mansion needs you. When you join the Mansion's volunteer corps, you become a part of history. Volunteers are absolutely vital to the Mansion's successful operation. They expand our resources, create and strengthen our ties to the community, and bring new skills and a fresh perspective to our programs. As interpreters of the Mansion's past, volunteers have a chance to make a lasting contribution to the visitors' appreciation of American history. Volunteers may also help to preserve the Mansion as an essential cultural and aesthetic resource, making the community a better place to live.

Tour guide:
Provide guided, interpretive tours of the Mansion. The interpretation includes family and social history, architectural and decorative arts information, and political history, including the relationship between the Davis family and Abraham Lincoln.

Receptionist:
Greet visitors as they arrive at the Visitor Center, organize tours, and help with special assignments.

Volunteers also participate in a variety of educational programming and special events throughout the year. Volunteers are expected to participate in Mansion activities a minimum of 4 hours per month.

For information on becoming a volunteer, please contact the Mansion at (309) 828-1084 or
